Time for the gym?

Posted by jaclynbeckerman on January 7, 2010

Lets be honest, it’s not gonna happen today. I HAVE gone every day the gym was open thus far on vacation (so minus 2 for nye & they’re closed on Sat) so that’s 8 and I deserve a day off!

I mean, that’s certainly more than enough, right? Though to be fair, the way we’ve been eating I could’ve been in the gym twice as long and it still wouldn’t outweigh the massive amounts of decliciousness I’ve been consuming.

There’s a wonderful concept they use in Landmark (& Accomplishment Coaching but it wasn’t so eloquently described there) that they call being ‘unreasonable’. Not actually meaning to go be obnoxious and demand people bow down to you. Rather to ‘go against your reasons’, generally reasons for not doing something, and do it anyway. And they say that this will create results in your life.

I have to say I think I’ve done an admirable job of this this vacation because let me tell you, I did not want to go workout all those times. Though I certainly felt better for having done so. Both physically and mentally (one more piece of bread? suuuure, I earned it). If it’s not clear yet I still certainly ate whatever I wanted, I was just attempting to curb some of the damage this could create.

And we do have another (what is sure to be) decadent meal to come for dinner tonight…

Crap, I think I just cornered myself. Fine, I’m off to the gym… but I’m not staying crazy long so I can get to the beach!

Damn unreasonable actions and results.

  1. Justin says:

If you go to the gym EVERY day then your body wouldn’t get the time to recover…

it’s good you’re taking the day off… healthy in fact :)

  2. Thanks Justin! That’s good to know. I actually did go but I just did 30 minutes of cardio – no weights. Is it bad to do cardio every day?
